3. Data retained, and why
In the following cases, some data is retained to the extent necessary under law or contract, with appropriate safeguards:
- Statutory retention obligations:Data that must be retained by law (such as genetic testing reports subject to regulation) is deleted or de-identified once the statutory period expires.
- Completed transactions and testing records:The minimum records necessary to perform the contract and meet accounting, tax or audit obligations.
- Anonymised statistical data:Fully anonymised statistical data that cannot be traced back to an individual may continue to be used for internal analysis; because it cannot identify a person, it falls outside the scope of deletion.
- Dispute handling or legal obligations:Data necessary to handle disputes, exercise or defend legal rights, or comply with the requirements of a competent authority.
Retained data is kept only for its intended purpose and for the necessary period, and is deleted or de-identified once that period expires or it is no longer needed.
4. Specific note on genetic testing data
Your genetic testing data is collected under the separate informed consent form you sign with SD Health Biotech Co., Ltd., and transmitted by that company to for presentation on the platform.
- When you delete your account, the Company removes or de-identifies the genetic testing results as presented on the platform and the health guidance derived from them.
- If you also wish to delete the raw genetic data and specimens held by SD Health Biotech Co., Ltd. (and its commissioned laboratories), please say so when contacting customer service. The Company will pass the request to SD Health Biotech to handle under its informed consent form; testing already carried out before withdrawal, data required by law to be retained, and reports already produced are excluded.
